How long should a paediatric first aid course be?
The full course is around twelve hours, normally over two days, and the emergency version is one day of about six hours. Which one a setting needs depends on its role and staffing, so check the current EYFS requirements.
What is a fire warden responsible for day to day?
Prevention, evacuation and extinguishers are the three parts of the role. Day to day that means keeping escape routes clear, watching for hazards and checking the alarm and equipment are in order.
In an evacuation the warden guides people out calmly, checks their area and reports at the assembly point. Fire warden training with Aim2Aid First Aid and Fire Safety Training is a half day at your own building, walking your real escape routes and assembly point.

What should you do when an adult is choking?
A person who can cough should be urged to keep going. When they cannot cough or breathe, up to five back blows between the shoulder blades come first, followed by up to five abdominal thrusts.
Call 999 if it has not cleared after the cycles, and begin CPR should they lose consciousness. Abdominal thrusts can cause injury, so a medical check should follow. Infants and children need different techniques.
